Commercial and Industrial Cleanouts

Mulberry has a rail-served industrial park, the Badcock distribution center on SR-60, the TECO power plant, and multiple businesses supporting the phosphate industry. Commercial and industrial cleanouts, buildouts, and facility updates require large dumpsters. The 30-yard dumpster is standard for most commercial work. Florida summers bring heavy storms through Polk County. Most Mulberry residential roofs fit in a 20-yard dumpster. Larger homes and commercial buildings near the SR-60 and SR-37 corridors may need the 30-yard. Call with your square footage and we will size it right.

About Mulberry

Mulberry is a city of about 4,500 people in south-central Polk County, incorporated in 1901 and officially known as the Phosphate Capital of the World. The city sits where State Road 60 and State Road 37 meet — right at the doorstep of City Hall — which is also called the Crossroads of Florida. An unusual feature of downtown is where two CSX railroad lines cross directly in the middle of SR-37 at SW 2nd Street, one of the few places in the country where active rail lines intersect in the center of a four-lane divided highway.

The city was named for a large mulberry tree that served as the community gathering point when the railroad came through in the 1880s. Phosphate was discovered in the Peace River in 1886 and Bone Valley became the most productive phosphate mining region in the world. The Mosaic Company still operates the Nichols mine about two miles east of town. Badcock Home Furniture opened its first store here in 1904 and its national headquarters and distribution center remain on SR-60 to this day with 382 stores across the Southeast.

The Mulberry Phosphate Museum, housed in a historic train depot, is free to visit and includes a fossil dig pit where visitors can dig for real shark teeth and fossils. Depot 303 is a restored event venue near downtown. Studio 37 is a community creator space in a former bank building offering art, yoga, and cultural programming. Loyce E. Harpe Park has mountain bike trails, athletic fields, and connects to Se7en Wetlands Park with fishing lakes and hiking. Bone Valley ATV Park draws riders from across Central Florida. Spence Park has a skate park and community events. Streamsong Resort, a 16,000-acre golf and spa destination developed on former Mosaic phosphate land, sits south of the city.
