Common Projects in Homeland
Home Renovations and Remodels
Homeland has older homes on large lots that see steady renovation work. Kitchen and bathroom updates, flooring replacement, and full room remodels all require a dumpster. A 20-yard dumpster handles most single-home renovation jobs in Homeland.
Estate and Full Property Cleanouts
Multi-generational Homeland families with older rural homes often need complete property cleanouts. Large lots mean more to clear out — furniture, appliances, farm equipment parts, tools, and decades of accumulated items. The 30-yard dumpster handles most estate cleanouts in the 33847 area.
Farm and Agricultural Cleanup
Homeland has working farms and agricultural properties throughout the community. Fence line clearing, old outbuilding demolition, equipment debris, and land clearing generate large volumes fast. The 30-yard dumpster is the right call for most agricultural jobs. Call with your project details and we will size it correctly.
Roof Replacements
Florida summers are hard on roofs throughout Polk County. Most Homeland residential roofs fit in a 20-yard dumpster. Larger homes and outbuildings may need the 30-yard. Call with your square footage and we will size it right.
Outbuilding and Shed Demolition
Homeland properties often have old sheds, barns, and outbuildings that have reached the end of their life. Demo debris from wood-frame structures, metal roofing, and old concrete foundations goes in the 30-yard dumpster. We work with contractors throughout rural Polk County.
Storm Debris and Yard Cleanup
Large Homeland properties generate significant debris after Florida storms. Tree removal, brush clearing, and hurricane cleanup are regular calls from property owners with mature trees and large yards. Call to confirm materials before booking.
Permit Information
Homeland is unincorporated Polk County, so there is no city government here. No permit is needed if the dumpster sits on your private property or driveway. Street or right-of-way placement requires a permit from Polk County. Most Homeland properties have more than enough space for driveway or yard placement without any permit needed.

About Homeland
Homeland is an unincorporated community in Polk County sitting about 6 miles south of Bartow on US Highway 17. It is one of the oldest settlements in Polk County, with roots going back to the 1850s before the Civil War. The original settlement was called Bethel before being renamed Homeland. It served as a stop midway between Peace Creek and Fort Meade on the South Florida Railroad, which arrived in the late 1800s.
Homeland Heritage Park on Church Avenue is the only historical park in Polk County and sits on five acres of original 19th century buildings. The centerpiece is the Homeland School, built in 1878 as Bethel Academy — the oldest surviving schoolhouse in Polk County, now on the National Register of Historic Places. The park also contains the Homeland Methodist Church from 1887, the Raulerson House built in 1900 in the Florida cracker style, an English log cabin, and an original pioneer cemetery. The school was closed in 1956 and donated to Polk County in 1985.
Today Homeland is still one of the smallest and quietest communities in Polk County. It has a post office, a general store, and the Heritage Park. The surrounding land is a mix of working cattle farms, citrus groves, and older residential properties on large lots — exactly the kind of place where a well-placed dumpster saves a week of work.
