What We Haul in Davenport

New Subdivisions Along US-27

Davenport's population went from 2,888 in 2010 to 9,043 in 2020. That kind of growth means a steady stream of framing scraps and packaging. For new build cleanup, most crews pick the 30-yard.

Vacation Home Turnovers

With the theme parks a short drive up I-4, the Davenport area has a lot of short-term rental homes. Swapping out furniture or updating a kitchen between guests usually fits a 20-yard, and a 3 day rental fits a quick turnover.

HOA Neighborhoods

Many communities here have associations with rules on dumpster placement and how many days one can stay. Get the OK from your HOA before booking, and you won't have to worry about a violation notice.

Davenport Permits

This is the trickiest permit situation in our area. The City of Davenport covers only about 4.2 square miles, so lots of homes with a Davenport address actually sit in unincorporated Polk County. Pull your parcel up through the Polk County Property Appraiser and read the Taxing District line. If it says Davenport, call the city's Building and Planning Department at (863) 419-3300. If it says unincorporated, the county's building office at (863) 534-6080 is who you want.

Davenport Questions

Is Davenport too far for same-day delivery?

No. It's about 30 minutes from our yard, and same-day is usually possible when you order before 10 AM. For a turnover between guests, booking a day ahead is the safer bet.

How do I know if my Davenport home is inside city limits?

Search your address on the Polk County Property Appraiser website. The Taxing District field shows either Davenport or Unincorporated Polk County, and that decides who handles permits.

Do you work with vacation rental managers in Davenport?

Yes. Property managers book us for renovations and turnovers in communities like Solterra, Highlands Reserve, and Aviana.

About Davenport

Davenport is a city in northeast Polk County. Its population was 9,043 at the 2020 census, up from 2,888 in 2010. That is more than three times as many people in ten years.

The area's history starts in 1838, when the Army built Fort Davenport during the Second Seminole War, about 12 miles north of today's city. The fort was named for Colonel William Davenport. The modern town grew up in the 1880s when the South Florida Railroad arrived, and it was first known as Horse Creek. The name changed to Davenport in 1886, and the town incorporated in 1915.

Today, historic downtown sits along US-17 on the east side, while most new growth runs along the US-27 corridor to the west. Short-term rentals, new subdivisions, and remodels keep dumpsters busy across the whole area.
